Find and replace text

Find a word or number anywhere in a deck and change every copy of it at once.

  1. Open the deck.

  2. Press CommandFCtrlF to find, or CommandShiftHCtrlH to find and replace. A find box opens in the top right of the slide.

  3. Type what you're looking for in Find. The box shows how many matches there are, like "2/7".

The find box searching for EBITDA, showing match 2 of 5
  4. Press Enter to jump to the next match, or ShiftEnterShiftEnter to go back. Pitchcrow moves to each slide as you go.

  5. To replace, type the new text in Replace with, then click:

    • Replace to change only the match you're on.
    • All to change every match in the deck.

When All is done, the find box says how many it changed, like "Replaced 6 matches across 3 slides." If some changes couldn't be saved, it says how many.

  6. Press Esc to close the box.

Opened Find but want to replace? Click the small arrow at the left of the find box to show Replace with.

Two buttons next to the Find box change what counts as a match:

  • Match case finds only the same capital and small letters. "EBITDA" won't match "Ebitda".
  • Whole word skips matches inside longer words. "rate" won't match "separate".

Good to know

  • Find looks through the text in text boxes and table cells on every slide. It doesn't look inside charts.
  • Slides Pitchcrow is still writing are left out.
  • Replace skips anything that's locked, and any slide Pitchcrow is working on right now.
  • Anyone who can open the deck can use Find. Only Admins and Editors of the space can replace. See Space roles.
  • To find text in a sheet, see Find and replace in a sheet.
